Review: Vitacon 2562 Tele Conversion Lens
By Ctenotus

I bought this X 2.5 tele conversion lens to use with the excellent Sony
HVR-V1P HDV Camcorder, as my key interest is natural history videography.
The camera's native Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 20X zoom lens is superb,
but the maximum magnification is sometimes too little for small and/or
distant objects. Unfortunately I wish that I hadn't purchased the Vitacon
2562 Tele Conversion Lens - the image is distorted at its edges, and
overall image quality is poor to mediocre. The other problem is that the
tele conversion lens attaches with a screw thread, unlike Sony's own wide
angle lens bayonet attachment. This makes lens attachment and removal
both slow and cumbersome.
