Pros :
Delivery is so fast (around 3 days) and the fee is nice!
Prices is nice compare with buying in HK, it saves almost $5000!
Cons:
Not UPS! its DHL!
The logistic company packing and protection of goods is damn suxk! it just used the black plastic bag to pack the goods, no air cushion and no bubble warp!
P.S. if its using UPS to delivery, i would give the review and command is perfect!

We do not use bubble wrap intentionally. An excessively strong box may stay intact while equipment inside is damaged. Original manufacturer's package is designed to protect equipment and to clearly demonstrate damages.

An Awesome buy

Thanks to Globalmediapro Limited for the supply of this awesome camera the JVC GY-HM700 HD Camcorder Kit with Fujinon 17x5 Lens, the one problem which out of Globalmediapro Limited control was it arrived with no power supply or battery, so make sure you add these into your order. We opted for Fujinon 17x5 Lens option because we already run Fujinon lens on our other JVC cameras, I had spoken to couple others about the canon lens and were told they can be a little noisy under low light. We are happy with our acquisition the price was excellent. Thanks again.

Smart little thing
By Sobs
from South Africa - Mthatha on
I have been using a different brand camcoder and I decided to get a new camera. Googled a few and I saw the statements that this one gives you quality that you normally get from bigger cameras, etc. I took a chance, keeping in mind that this was probably written by the same guy who made the camera. Just told myself he is too taking a risk because if what they say is not true.... I'm not sorry. I'm getting value for my money. Yes I struggled a bit because I use ADOBE, but I figured out that I set the camera to MP4 and all is well.
Excellent value

By Alan

I am very happy with the Comer and glad I went with this brand than some of the others on the market. Fairly light, good battery life and good brightness. I am glad I went with the 1800 rather than 900 as that extra brightness is useful outdoors during the day. Well worth the extra few bucks.

Pretty Average Mic for the $$$
By Bill R
from Whangarei on
I bought a Rode K2 new a few years ago. I had problems with it and Rode eventually replaced the capsule and tube in the mic. Even after this, the mic had quite a noise floor, which was only improved when I purchased a decent NOS tube from the states.
Comparing the Rode K2 to another Rode mic that shares the HF-1 capsule, you will find they sound pretty much identical. Before the advent of the FET, a tube was needed to match the super high impedance of the diaphragm to the output stage. Tubes are a pain in this role, particularly as they often suffer from microphonics.
Needing a big chunky PSU and proprietary cable to use this mic and dealing with the idiosyncrasies of a tube mic were just a pain to me. I sold the mic and replaced it with an AT4050 which is just a much better sounding mic.
If you long for that "tube sound", you're better off with a tube based pre-amp. After all, how easy do you think it's going to be to drive the impedance converter into harmonics?

Great camera for the price
By Mondo
from Sydney, Australia on
OK - it is a 1/3" chip CCD camera so it is not a fantastic low light camera but to compare this with the Canon A1 which is a bulky handheld thing with poor ergonomics and a consumer grade lens is just crazy. I regularly shoot in studio situations with the A1 and the 700 and the A1 always looks soft by comparison.
If you want something that performs better in low light get the EX1R or the EX3 (both more expensive than this cam) and put up with CMOS issues like rolling shutter and infra red contamination - Sony largely solved the IR contamination on the EX1R but you still get rolling shutter in action situations.
In the field the HM700 is a pretty rugged camera, which is important if you are an action shoooter and in good light this camera sings. It has two much better lens options (14x Canon and 17x Fuji) than the equivalent Panasonic and the stock standard Sony MXF file structure or Quicktime mov means it is compatible with just about every NLE out there - AMA works on Avid, and both MXF and .MOV work on Final Cut.
If I had the money I'd buy the 2/3" shoulder mounted Sony for 20K+ but if you're on a budget then the JVC represents excellent value.
Best uses: Corporate and tourist based field work. If you look after your gear with a decent camera skin.
Pros: Proven ergonomics, excellent workflow, shoots to Class 6 SD cards (reasonably cheap), good glass options, really nice LCD monitor.
Cons: Low light performance average - probably 2 stops slower than the EX1/3.

Compact & Brilliant Image
By Andy7j
from Windsor NSW on
Bought this camera for travel to China and as a second camera to my big one. The image saturation and detail are brilliant even better than my 3 chip JVC. The active image stabilizer is almost as good as having the special hand held device for steadying the footage. Also the ability to adjust lighting, focus, colour balance, +-ev is fantastic, and not too hard once you get the hang of it. The shot gun mic is not too bad either for general use, extremely sensitive! Had to adjust the tone in post, but is almost as good as the Rode shotgun mic. The AVCHD files import directly into Sony Vegas for immediate editing unlike Final Cut which takes hours of transcoding before you can use it. For the price I would highly recommend for almost any use...

Sony NEX-VG10 - A Wedding Filmmaker's Perspective
By Evro
from Brisbane QLD, Australia on
Over the last 2 months I have read so many reviews and endured much really bad home video shot on this camera, however, none of these reviews addressed my needs as a wedding film-maker. Well, since I became an early adopter of this new hybrid camera I thought I would get the ball rolling with the first NEX-VG10 review from the perspective of someone who earns a living from wedding film-making...

I have bought it .just came home safely as usual.Thank you Global media pro.
I have found that it doesn't have XLR end so I was forced to look around and costed me extra 350 Kroner.
But it works fine after that.
